Hear Coach

This guide explains what Hear Coach is and where it shows up in RugbyCodex.

What Hear Coach does

Hear Coach gives players an audio-guided lesson connected to a segment.

The audio is crafted from the narration attached to that segment, so the player gets a spoken coaching takeaway in the voice of the coach rather than only reading text on the screen.

Where players encounter Hear Coach

Players can use Hear Coach in the places where they are already consuming reviewed material.

That includes:

  • playlist watch flows
  • player-focused watch surfaces
  • the player moments experience that opens when someone clicks Play for a player from the Player Impact area in Match Hub

In those surfaces, players can watch the clip and then tap Hear Coach to get the spoken lesson for that segment.

Why it matters

Hear Coach helps turn review into something easier to consume.

That is especially useful when a player wants:

  • the key takeaway quickly
  • a stronger connection between the clip and the lesson
  • a more guided experience while moving through several moments

What makes Hear Coach better

Because Hear Coach depends on the narration attached to the segment, the quality of the audio lesson improves when the narration is:

  • clear
  • specific
  • outcome-aware
  • coach-useful

Strong narration produces stronger spoken coaching.

How players should use it

A good pattern is:

  1. watch the clip
  2. listen to Hear Coach
  3. rewatch the clip with the coaching point in mind
  4. compare similar moments through playlists or player-specific sequences

That turns Hear Coach into a learning aid, not just an audio novelty.
